Our Promise
Every decision we make is sensitive to our impact on the world around us. We think deeply about each step in the lifecycle of a product we add to our collection. This means being as mindful about a product’s final destination as we are about understanding the materials it is made from and the environment it is created in.
Our Belief
We believe in being selective; that buying less, but buying better, is a more sustainable approach. We have sought out the very best quality, design and materials for your little ones, to ensure our products last longer and go on to have many lifetimes. We hope to see our products loved, and, if outgrown, are rehomed, repurposed or reloved.
Our Solution
When handpicking our collection of children’s pieces for Maypole Lane, here are some of the important elements we look out for: Organic Materials or Fibres, Sustainable Forest Management, Recycled Materials, Natural Ingredients and Ethical Production. In addition to these elements, we only choose items that we would be happy to bring into our own home.
We are free of single-use plastic and our packaging is made up of recycled materials, FSC-certified paper, is compostable, recyclable and printed with plant-based inks. We use natural brown kraft boxes and ship our orders in the smallest sized box, eliminating excess packaging. We don't print paper packing slips but send e-receipts instead. We are working hard to find a solution for our plastic-coated address labels, which need to be waterproof if in the event they are exposed to the elements. We reuse or recycle as much packaging and material as possible, that we receive from our suppliers.
We are always looking for ways in which we can improve our processes and are constantly learning along the way.
