Part-Time Retail & Customer Experience Assistant

Maypole Lane – Children’s Lifestyle Store

Location: 70 Main Street, Midleton, Co. Cork P25 232
Hours: Part-time with flexibility required during occasional in-person store events, holidays and busy seasonal periods. Must be available Friday afternoons and Saturdays weekly.

The Role

We’re looking for someone who cares about customers, about detail, and about creating a genuinely lovely experience at every touchpoint.

You’ll support the day-to-day running of the business, from packing orders to helping customers choose the perfect gift, while bringing our brand values to life in every interaction.


Key Responsibilities:

Customer Experience

  • Deliver warm, thoughtful, and helpful customer service (online and in-person)

  • Assist customers with product recommendations and gifting ideas

  • Handle customer queries via email/DMs in a friendly, on-brand tone

  • Help create a seamless and memorable customer journey

Order Fulfilment

  • Pick, pack, and dispatch online orders with care and attention to detail

  • Ensure packaging reflects the Maypole Lane brand (premium, thoughtful, gift-worthy)

  • Manage stock levels and flag low inventory

Product & Store Support

  • Assist with merchandising and product organisation

  • Maintain high visual and organisational standards

  • Support product launches and seasonal transitions

Content & Brand Support (Bonus if you love this)

  • Help capture simple, aesthetic behind-the-scenes content (Reels/Stories)

  • Support with light social media tasks if comfortable

  • Contribute ideas for customer engagement and community-building

Events & Growth

  • Assist with occasional in-person events (e.g. workshops, pop-ups)

  • Support special campaigns, launches, and busy seasonal periods

Experience

  • Previous retail or customer service experience is a plus, but not essential

  • Experience with Shopify or online retail is beneficial (but can be taught)
